Repairable, Salvage and Damaged Ford LTD for Sale

The LTD is a vintage play, not a daily-driver hunt. It's the 1965–86 full-size Ford – the plain LTD and the LTD Crown Victoria – plus the smaller 1983–86 mid-size LTD, and the body-on-frame full-size cars are the direct ancestor of the Panther Crown Victoria that followed. Only a handful have sold here over the last two years, too few to quote a real median, so treat every lot on its own merits rather than an average. Buyers come for three things: a budget classic to restore, a clean donor for a resto project, or a cheap body for demolition derby – and most stay in the US, picked up locally or shipped in-country rather than exported. On a car this old, rust decides everything. Check the frame rails, floor pans, trunk drops and lower quarters before you look at anything else – a bent panel is nothing next to a rotten frame, and Southern cars are worth chasing for that reason alone. Mechanically these are simple: the 302 and 351 Windsor V8s are cheap and well-understood, parts are on every shelf, and a "blown motor" listing is barely a speed bump when a crate 302 costs less than the tow. The real hunt is trim and interior – grille, tail-light lenses, correct wheel covers and dashboards get scarce, so a clean-title LTD with an intact interior is often worth more than a rougher one with a fresh engine. The upside on the full-size cars is Panther parts-sharing: a lot of the Crown Victoria's running gear and cabin bits interchange, which keeps a restoration feed alive long after the original supply dried up.
