The F-450 is the heavy end of Ford's Super Duty line – a step above the F-350, sold as both a wide-track dually pickup and a chassis cab for service bodies and hotshot rigs. Counts stay thin, usually under 100 lots live at once, because most of these trucks work for a living and don't get totaled young. Sold prices sit high and cover a wide spread: a burned or blown-motor non-runner can go for a couple thousand, while a straight low-mile dually clears five figures with room to spare. Volume is low enough that I won't quote a single median – watch the last few comparable sales instead. Nearly all stay in the US, picked up locally or hauled in-country by the buyer.
On an F-450 the money is in the drivetrain and the frame, not the sheet metal. The 6.7 Power Stroke diesel dominates these years, and its weak point is the CP4 high-pressure injection pump – when it grenades it sends metal through the entire fuel system, so a cheap "won't start" listing can hide a repair that eats the whole rails, injectors and lines. Budget for that on any non-runner. These are working trucks, so go over the frame, the hitch, and the fifth-wheel or gooseneck mount for cracks and stretched holes – fleet and tow duty beats them hard. Check the wide-track front axle and steering on the pickups. And look hard for deleted or tampered emissions: a missing DPF or tuned ECM is a registration headache and can fail inspection in a lot of states.
