The Five Hundred was Ford's full-size sedan for just three model years, 2005 through 2007, before it was renamed the Taurus in 2008. That short run and its age mean the auction pool is thin, high-mileage and cheap – too few sell to quote a model median, but across Ford's auction pool salvage cars land near $3,000 before fees, and a Five Hundred comes in well under that. These are budget lots that draw flippers and parts sellers more than restorers, and nearly all stay in the US, picked up locally or shipped in-country.
The one thing that decides a Five Hundred is the transmission. Every one runs the 3.0 Duratec V6 – a modest, durable motor – but it was paired with either an Aisin six-speed automatic or a ZF-built CVT, and the CVT is the known killer: it fails, replacements are scarce and a swap often costs more than the car. Confirm which gearbox a lot has before you bid, and treat a CVT car as parts unless the price is nothing. It's a front-wheel-drive unibody, so there's no frame to bend, but a front hit can push into the subframe and rad support – line the clean-title photos up against the damage code first. AWD versions add a power-transfer unit that leaks and whines when it's tired. If a car's a runner with a blown motor or a dead CVT, the non-repairable Five Hundred lots go cheap for swaps and parts.
Buying is quick: register free – no dealer license – set a maximum bid and the system bids for you up to that cap, or take a car at its Buy Now price. Win it, pay the invoice plus fees, then arrange pickup, US delivery or export.
Note: ACV and damage data come from the original auction listing. Always check the condition and title yourself before you bid.

FAQ
FAQ What condition are these Ford Five Hundred lots in?
About 17 lots right now, 82% on a salvage title and the rest clean or rebuilt. Front-end hits, minor dents and normal wear are the usual damage, and mileage runs high – averaging around 126,000 – because every one is a 2005–2007 car.
Is a salvage Ford Five Hundred worth buying?
For a cheap runner or a parts car, sometimes – it's one of the least expensive lots at auction and 3.0 Duratec parts cost next to nothing. Too few sell to name a model price, but across Ford salvage cars run near $3,000 before fees and a Five Hundred lands under that. A dead CVT, a flooded cabin, or worn AWD hardware is where the math stops. Bid near a clean-title example minus your repair estimate.
What should I check before bidding?
First, which transmission: the six-speed auto is fine, the CVT is a costly walk-away. Since it's a unibody, look past the panel to the subframe and rad support on any front hit. On AWD cars, listen for a whining power-transfer unit. Cross-check the title brand against the damage photos – they don't always match.
Can I insure and register a salvage Five Hundred?
Only after it's rebuilt and passes a state inspection – then most insurers will cover it, just not the company that totaled it. While it's salvage-titled it can't be road-registered. Check with your insurer before you bid.
How does the auction work?
Register free, no dealer license. Set a maximum bid and the system bids for you up to that cap, or take a lot at its Buy Now price. Win it, pay the invoice plus fees, then pick up, ship or export.
How do I check the car's history?
Every lot shows the VIN, damage type and title brand – run the VIN through a vehicle-history report for prior accidents, mileage and title events before you commit.
What are good alternatives to the Five Hundred?
The direct one is its own successor, the Ford Taurus. For the same full-size sedan money buyers also cross-shop the Chevy Impala, or step to a Toyota Avalon if you want a roomier, more reliable cruiser.
