The Focus is a cheap way into the auction pool, and there's always a stack of them in Ford's lineup – usually 600-plus live lots, mileage averaging around 105,000. Over the last two years 52 salvage and repairable Focus cars sold here, most between $650 and $1,550 before fees; front-end hits led at 31%, and they're the cheapest to put right. This is a commuter car, so nobody's paying big money – a lot of these move for parts or a quick rebuild. Nearly all stay in the US, picked up locally or shipped in-country.
One thing decides most Focus buys, and it isn't the body. The 2012–2018 automatics use the DPS6 dual-clutch – Ford's PowerShift – and it's notorious for a shudder that gets worse until the clutch pack or the whole transmission gives up. That's why so many of these lots are cheap: a shuddering Focus is a gamble unless you can price a clutch job or a swap. Drive-wise the 2.0 four-cylinder is the plain, honest option; the little 1.0 EcoBoost three-cylinder is thriftier but touchier. The ST hatchback runs a 2.0 turbo and the rare RS adds a 2.3 turbo with all-wheel drive – both worth more and worth a harder look at the drivetrain. It's a unibody car, so a hard front hit can tweak the rails and total it on paper; check the non-repairable Focus lots if all you want is a shell for parts. Line up the title brand against the damage photos before you commit – they don't always agree.
Buying is quick: register free – no dealer license – set a maximum bid and the system bids for you up to that cap, or take a car at its Buy Now price. Win it, pay the invoice plus fees, then arrange pickup, US delivery or export.
Note: ACV and damage data come from the original auction listing. Always check the condition and title yourself before you bid.

FAQ
FAQ What condition are these Ford Focus cars in?
About 956 lots right now, 73% on a salvage title and the rest clean or rebuilt. Front-end and minor dents are the usual damage, and mileage averages around 128,000.
Is a salvage Ford Focus worth buying?
For a cheap commuter or a parts car, often yes. Recent Focus cars sold for a median winning bid around $950 before fees, so your total stays low even after a repair. The math only breaks if the transmission is shot or a front hit reached the unibody rails.
What should I check before bidding?
Test or ask about the automatic first: the 2012–2018 DPS6 dual-clutch shudders and fails, and a fix eats any savings. Then check the front rails on any nose-damage car. On the 1.0 EcoBoost listen for a rough cold start; the plain 2.0 is the safer engine.
Can I insure and register a salvage Focus?
Only after it's rebuilt and passes a state inspection – then most insurers will write it, just not the company that totaled it. While it's salvage-titled it can't be road-registered. Check with your insurer before you bid.
How does the auction work?
Register free, no dealer license. Set a maximum bid and the system bids for you up to that cap, or take a lot at its Buy Now price. Win it, pay the invoice plus fees, then pick up, ship or export.
How do I check the car's history?
Every lot lists the VIN, damage type and title brand. Run the VIN through a vehicle-history report for prior accidents, mileage and title events before you commit.
What are good alternatives to the Focus?
Buyers cross-shop the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla for a more reliable compact, or the Chevy Cruze as another cheap domestic option. All three usually have healthy salvage counts.
