Start with the high-voltage system, not the bodywork. Auction photos rarely show whether the battery pack itself was breached, so a damage type like side or under-vehicle impact deserves a call to the seller or a specialist inspection before you bid — a compromised pack can mean a total loss even when the cabin looks fine. Ask specifically whether the vehicle passed a post-collision high-voltage safety check, since an EV with an unverified pack shouldn't be towed or stored like a normal car. The 12-volt accessory battery and the drivetrain's single-speed reduction gear are comparatively simple and cheap next to the traction battery, so a lot with only exterior damage and a confirmed-healthy pack can be a strong buy. Charging-port damage is worth a close look too, since it's an easy miss in photos and not always cheap to source. A non-repairable EQB-Class lot with a bad pack can still be worth the motor, wiring and interior.
