By Model
The Insight has carried Honda's hybrid badge on and off since 1999, and the version most likely to show up here is the third-generation four-door built on the Civic platform from 2019 to 2022. Sold volume for this exact model is too thin to set its own median. Treat the Honda-wide $3,400 before fees as a loose reference point rather than an Insight number — a compact hybrid sedan like this usually lands under that average once you factor in repair costs. Most of these stay in the US, picked up locally or shipped in-country.
Two different Honda hybrid systems have worn the Insight name, and knowing which one sits under the hood changes the inspection. Cars from 2000-2006 and 2010-2014 ran the IMA system, a single electric motor assisting a small gas engine, backed by a nickel-metal-hydride pack that fades with age no matter how clean the body looks. The 2019-2022 sedan switched to Honda's two-motor i-MMD hybrid setup with a lithium-ion battery under the rear seat — the same layout as the bigger Accord Hybrid, and one that tends to hold up better over time. A hybrid warning light or a 12-volt battery that won't hold a charge points straight at the pack on any generation, so budget an inspection before you trust the odometer. It's also a lightweight unibody, so a moderate front hit can reach further into the cabin than it would on a heavier sedan — check the firewall and dash on any collision lot. When the shell isn't worth chasing, non-repairable Insight lots still move for the battery pack and drivetrain.
Buying is quick: register free — no dealer license — set a maximum bid and the system bids for you up to that cap, or take a lot at its Buy Now price. Win it, pay the invoice plus fees, then pick up, ship or export.
Note: ACV and damage data come from the original auction listing. Always check the condition and title yourself before you bid.

FAQ
FAQ What condition are these Insights in?
About 70 lots, 86% on a salvage title and the rest clean, rebuilt or non-repairable. Front End leads at 60%, mileage averages 110,000, and nearly every lot is the standard Insight sedan body.
Is a salvage Insight worth buying?
Usually yes if the hybrid battery checks out, since parts are cheap and the drivetrain is well understood. There's no Insight-specific median here — Hondas overall cleared around $3,400 before fees recently, and a small hybrid sedan like this typically sells under that once repair and battery risk are weighed in. A dead pack or a caved firewall changes the math fast.
What should I check before bidding?
Confirm the generation and hybrid system first, since the older IMA cars and the newer i-MMD sedan don't share a battery type. Check for a hybrid warning light and test the 12-volt battery's charge. Then look at the firewall and dash on any front-hit lot, since the front end is short.
Can I insure and register a salvage Insight?
Only after it's rebuilt and passes a state inspection — then most insurers will cover it, just not the one that paid the claim. While it's salvage-titled it can't go on the road. Check with your insurer before you bid.
How does the auction work?
Register free, no dealer license. Set a maximum bid and the system bids for you up to that cap, or take a lot at its Buy Now price. Win it, pay the invoice plus fees, then pick up, ship or export.
How do I check an Insight's history before bidding?
Every lot shows the VIN, damage type and title brand. Run the VIN through a vehicle-history report for prior accidents and title events, and confirm the exact generation and hybrid system before you commit.
What are good alternatives to the Insight?
Buyers cross-shop the Toyota Prius for hybrid efficiency, or the Hyundai Ioniq if you want another compact hybrid sedan.
