By Model
Honda stopped building the Element in 2011, so what shows up in Honda's auction pool now is an aging, low-volume niche — not enough recent sales to set its own median. Treat the make-wide $3,400 before fees as background noise rather than an Element number: a clean, rust-free one still draws a following of campers, surfers and dog owners willing to pay up, while a rough one is mostly a parts source. Most of these stay in the US, picked up locally or shipped in-country.
The Element's whole pitch was durability, and some of that shows up on a damaged lot too. The lower body panels are unpainted, dent-resistant plastic, so a scuff that would need repainting on a normal car often just wipes off here — check the plastic itself for cracks rather than assuming it needs paint. The rear doors are rear-hinged with no center pillar, so on any side-damage lot look hard at the door latches and the sill, since that structure behaves differently than a normal B-pillar car in a side hit. Under the hood it's the K24 four-cylinder, a generally tough engine, though the automatic's torque converter can shudder on high-mileage examples — worth a look if the lot includes a start-up clip. All-wheel-drive Elements add a rear differential that's cheap to check by ear. As with most Hondas from this era, confirm any open Takata airbag recall before you plan to drive it. When the shell's too rusty to save, these still move for the drivetrain and plastic panels — the rear hatch hardware alone is getting hard to find.
Buying is quick: register free — no dealer license — set a maximum bid and the system bids for you up to that cap, or take a lot at its Buy Now price. Win it, pay the invoice plus fees, then pick up, ship or export.
Note: ACV and damage data come from the original auction listing. Always check the condition and title yourself before you bid.

FAQ
FAQ What condition are these Elements in?
About 74 lots, 65% on a salvage title and the rest clean or rebuilt. Front End leads at 49%, mileage averages 177,000, and virtually every lot is the standard Element wagon body.
Is a salvage Element worth buying?
It can be, since the plastic body panels shrug off scuffs and the K24 engine is tough — but this is a discontinued, cult-following model with too little sold data for its own median, so don't lean on the make-wide $3,400 average either. Compare a rough lot against a clean-title Element before you commit, since enthusiast demand can push a straight one well past what the damage code suggests.
What should I check before bidding?
The rear door latches and sill on any side-damage lot, since the rear-hinged doors and missing center pillar behave differently than on a normal car. Then the torque converter on the automatic — a shudder at speed is common on high-mileage units — and confirm any open Takata airbag recall before you plan to drive it.
Can I insure and register a salvage Element?
Only after it's rebuilt and passes a state inspection — then most insurers will cover it, just not the company that totaled it. While it's salvage-titled it can't go on the road. Check with your insurer before you bid.
How does the auction work?
Register free, no dealer license. Set a maximum bid and the system bids for you up to that cap, or take a lot at its Buy Now price. Win it, pay the invoice plus fees, then pick up, ship or export.
How do I check an Element's history before bidding?
Every lot shows the VIN, damage type and title brand. Run the VIN through a vehicle-history report for prior accidents and title events, and check for any open recall campaigns before you commit.
What are good alternatives to the Element?
There's nothing quite like it left in production, but the Toyota 4Runner covers similar rugged-wagon ground, and the Kia Soul gives you a boxy shape on a smaller budget.
