Beginning in 1949 with the showing of the first Cadillac Coupe de Ville, this full-sized sedan was the fleet’s largest vehicle. The Cadillac Sixty Special supplied the chassis. The 2005 Cadillac DeVille was the last model to bear the name, and for the following year, Cadillac rebranded the DeVille as the DTS — DeVille Touring Sedan. Actually, the DTS moniker was introduced in 1985, when Cadillac offered a “De Ville Touring Sedan” package. Cadillac’s rebranding that year also included the Seville gaining the new name STS and the Catera being replaced with the CTS.
