Unlike a standard factory sedan, a stretch limousine starts life as a regular Cadillac and gets cut in half by an aftermarket coachbuilder, who splices in extra body sections, reinforces the frame, and reroutes the underlying mechanicals — fuel lines, wiring, driveshaft — to reach the finished length. That structural work, not the badge, is what most of the value sits in, and a lot here trades far too rarely to anchor a price to. Read this pool as a specialty commercial buy, not daily-driver salvage. Most stay in the US with limo operators and enthusiasts, picked up locally or shipped in-country.

The splice itself is the first thing to look at, since a coachbuilder's weld quality varies and a stretch that's been in a hard collision can flex or crack at the extended sections in ways a standard unibody never would. These often run extra equipment — a second fuel tank, auxiliary air conditioning for the passenger cabin, a hydraulic partition, and sometimes a bar or entertainment system — and any of it not working is a real repair cost, not a cosmetic miss. Because the car started life as a Cadillac sedan, the front-end drivetrain and electronics are mostly stock, so mechanical parts are no harder to find than on a regular car; it's the stretch-specific coachwork and extra doors — plus the rear equipment — that are slow and expensive to source or repair. Heavy commercial use also means more mileage and harder wear than the body style alone suggests. When the structure's too compromised to trust, a stretch limo still pencils out for the drivetrain and equipment that does work.
