Repairable, Salvage and Damaged Porsche Taycan for Sale

The Taycan is Porsche's newest nameplate at auction, so the sample here is still small — not enough Taycans have sold to build a model-specific median. Across the make a recent Porsche sold for a median winning bid around $7,050 before fees, but that figure leans on gas engines and tells you little about an electric one. Everything about pricing a Taycan starts under the floor. The battery pack is structural, part of the car's 800-volt architecture, and sits low enough that a flood title or any underbody hit puts the pack itself in question. Get a shop that actually works on high-voltage EVs to check it before you set a number, because a replacement pack can cost more than the car is worth. The drivetrain is otherwise simpler than a gas Porsche: permanent-magnet motors front and rear, with a two-speed gearbox on the rear axle that's unique to this car and rarely causes trouble. Early Taycans needed a software fix for a 12-volt battery that could drain overnight and leave the car stranded — worth asking about on an older lot. Front-end hits are more forgiving than they look on paper, since there's no engine up front to damage, mostly bumper and crash structure ahead of a small front trunk. The Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo wagon bodies share the same motors and pack as the sedan, so the same checks apply. If the pack or the shell turns out to be a write-off, the non-repairable pool still pays for the motors and suspension, plus the interior.
