The Acura ILX marks the brand’s foray into the hybrid market. As a compact executive car, the Acura ILX is Acura’s first compact sedan following the discontinuation of the Acura Integra in 2001. Based on the Honda Civic Sedan, the ILX replaced the Canadian-exclusive CSX. Without question, Acura introduced the ILX in an attempt to fill the void left when it discontinued production on the RSX sport hatchback. Based upon the ninth-generation Civic platform, the Acura ILX differentiates itself from its Honda relative with enhanced interior accouterments and a sleeker exterior style. In addition to a 2.0-liter model that features a 150-hp four-cylinder and five-speed automatic engine, the ILX also comes available in a hybrid model with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, or a 2.4-liter performance variant that has a six-speed manual transmission and 201 horsepower. The 2014 Acura ILX comes with leather interior, heated front seats, an eight-way power driver’s seat, the tri-angle backup camera and other amenities.
